Planned Sheep Breeding

for tight lambing season, but needs extra help.

Planned breeding for sheep, from Parkside

Next generation breeding management tool for ewes

Intervet's Chronogest sheep sponges have been discontinued and will be replaced with the next generation of intravaginal sponges - Chronogest® CR.

The uniquely micronised active ingredient (cronolone) in the Chronogest CR sponges gives a very controlled release of hormone into the bloodstream.  When administered during the breeding season the sponges very quickly block oestrus in all sheep, regardless of their production status or season.  Tightly synchronised oestrus and ovulation is then achieved by removal of the sponges, after which either natural or fixed-time artificial insemination can take place.

Productivity benefits following Chronogest CR use can be seen as better reproductive planning, leading to significant labour efficiencies and more control over aspects of flock health, such as lamb survival.  Other benefits include the flexibility to use fixed-time AI and more efficient use of rams.

Chronogest CR comes in packs of 25, 50 and 100 sponges.  Each order will be supplied with an applicator for safe and easy administration.  Contact Alistair for further information.
