Kittening

Kittening

When this happens we have no alternative but to perform a Caesarian Section...

This cat was having problems trying to deilver her kittens! She was unable to pass the first kitten naturally - You can see him trying to come out and looking very red and stressed as a result!

When this happens we have no alternative but to perform a Caesarian Section to deliver the babies. The longer we wait, the more likely the kittens will die. The usual rule is, if mum starts to press and nothing appears in 2 hours, then the cat (or dog) should be seen by a Vet, to assess.

In this case we had already given snowy a hormone injection and operated in time to save all the kittens. There were three in total. Mum and babies doing very well!
